Correct Interpretation of unobstructed circulation of Qi along the meridians and Maturity of the Mind

問:我知道實證要經常地聽不斷地學,才能解決問題。我現在先把心態擺正,身體調整好,這樣才能身體好,氣脈通暢吧?

Question: I understand that while practicing meditation and Buddhist positivism, one must continuously listen and learn to resolve issues. If I adjust my mindset and administer my body well, will I become healthy and the circulation of my Qi along the meridians be smooth?

清涼月老師:這裏“身體好,氣脈通暢”的觀念不正確——對於“身體好”而言,身體是一種錯覺,它有什麼好與壞的?對於“氣脈通暢”而言,氣脈也是一種錯覺,沒有什麼好與壞的。你唯一需要做的,就是在實證中不斷去體驗、去調整,讓自己具備高層狀態的正確觀念,然後這個狀態一下子就突破了。

Master Qingliang Yue: The notion here that "a healthy body and unobstructed circulation of Qi along meridians" is incorrect—regarding a "healthy body," the body is a kind of illusion, what's good or bad about it? Regarding "unobstructed Qi along meridians," Qi circulation along meridians” is also an illusion, there's nothing good or bad about it. The only thing you need to do is continually experience and adjust in meditation practice, to develop the correct understanding of high-level states, then suddenly break through this state.

你雖然知道某些觀念上的東西(心態擺正,氣脈通暢等觀念),但在你還沒證到的時候,這些觀念實際上是不會發生作用的。所以還是要努力實證,去培養高層狀態的那種體驗、那種經驗和那種刻骨銘心的觀念。

Although you may know certain concepts (such as adjusting mindset, smoothing the circulation of Qi flow, etc.), these concepts won't actually work until you've realized them. So, you still need to strive for realization, to cultivate the experiences and the deeply ingrained concepts of higher levels

證到高層次之後,當前這個階段的問題一下子就突破了。我們會受很多錯誤觀念的影響,比如一直在這個身體上繞啊繞,這就是為什麼讓大家系統學習理論的緣由,就這個原因。因為在實證中,你不知不覺就會把錯誤的觀念帶進來。

Once you've reached higher levels, the problems of this current stage will suddenly dissipate. We are influenced by many erroneous concepts, such as constantly revolving around this body. This is the reason why we insist on systematic learning of the theories, as in meditation practice, you unconsciously bring in erroneous concepts.

之所以不能突破,那是因為觀念的問題,錯誤的觀念在悄悄地發生作用,只有經常地聽,不斷地聽,像學英語一樣——大家學英語就是在學校裏天天講,形成語言環境,然後就能解決問題。實證也是這樣,有時候你聽一遍再聽第二遍會感到厭煩,但事實上你平時就是在錯誤觀念中,已經形成習慣了,只有經常聽、經常應用原理,才能改變自己那種錯誤的經驗,這樣實證中你就不會把錯誤的觀念帶到實證中,比如在這裏,你的身體的觀念比較重,身見比較重,存在無法破身見觀念的問題。

The reason why breakthrough cannot be achieved is due to conceptual issues. Incorrect concepts are quietly taking effect. Just like learning English, you will be successful only by frequent and continuous practicing. Everyone learns English by speaking it every day in school, creating a language environment, and then learning English becomes easier. Meditation practice works the same way. Sometimes you may feel bored after listening once or twice, but in fact, you already have formed habits based on incorrect concepts, and only by frequently listening and applying principles can you change that erroneous experience. In this way, you won't bring incorrect concepts into meditation practice. For example, the concept of your body is deeply ingrained, your perception of your self view is relatively strong, and there exists a problem of being unable to break through the concept of the body.Top of Form

 

問:心智也更成熟,這樣才能再往前行吧?!

清涼月老師:心智更成熟是一般人的心智,是世智,也即世上人觀念上的心智。在咱們這裏如果指心智更成熟的話,只有證到一定境界,得到高層狀態,然後才能說明心智更成熟,這時候就意味著你突破了。

所以先對實證的理論體系有宏觀的把握,只有你理論體系把握透徹了,然後才能在實證中發現問題、解決問題。
