有身體的一絲一毫的覺受就一定不是初禪,要不然這樣說的話,那初禪就太容易了。根本不是這樣的。初禪可以說已經很不得了了,真正在實證中能達到初禪的,就包括專業人員在內,也不是說他就那樣能夠輕易地達到的,因為好多問題他解決不了,也就無法達到這種情況——初禪必須是斷呼吸和睡眠,如果呼吸睡眠沒斷,根本是不可能進入初禪的。
Even the slightest sensation in the body, then the practice cannot be considered Samatha meditation. To suggest otherwise would make Samatha far too accessible. It's simply not the case. Achieving Samatha is already an extraordinary feat. Even professionals, including seasoned practitioners, don't attain it easily because many obstacles hinder their progress. Samatha necessitates the cessation of both breath and sleep. Without this cessation, entering Samatha is impossible.
那麼,斷呼吸就是斷除身體的覺受,身體的覺受沒有根本解決,是不可能進入初禪的;而睡眠呢,可以這樣說,能進入初禪的人他可以一坐就是一夜,他已經完全地不受這個睡眠的束縛。對於這個來說,也不是身體的覺受所能解決的。
Cessation of breath implies the elimination of bodily sensations. Without resolving bodily sensations fundamentally, entering Samatha is out of the question. As for sleep, those who enter Samatha can sit through the night without being bound by it. This transcendence of sleep isn't attainable through merely addressing bodily sensations.
所以,大家只管去證,你不用去看那些雜七雜八的資訊——現在不要說網上了,包括正式出版的有些書籍,它都是亂寫的。現在的這個世界就是這樣。所以,一定要嚴格地去實證,不用去管那麼多。
Therefore, focus on your own empirical practice. Don't get bogged down by miscellaneous information. Whether online or in published books, much of what's written with misleading information. That's the nature of our world today. So, rigorously pursue your own direct experience and pay less heed to external noise.
