On “Enlightenment”- Knowing the Mind and Seeing the True Nature (I)

我們當前的思維由“思維本體(主體)和思維內容(客體)”這兩個部分構成,這兩個組成部分在不同場合和不同歷史時期有不同名稱,比如:

觀察者——觀察對象

我——我所

能觀——所觀

The current state of our mind consists of two parts: the "subject of thinking" (the thinker) and the "object of thinking" (the content of thoughts). These two components have different names in different contexts and historical periods, such as:

Observer - Observed object

Me - My thoughts

Subject of observation – Object of observation

“明心”明的是“主體(思維本體)”,而不是“客體(思維內容)”,因為“明心”的目的是為了“見性”。什麼是“性”?

“Knowing The Mind” refers to the clarity of the "subject" (the primordial consciousness) rather than the "object" (the content of thoughts), because the purpose of "Knowing the Mind " is to "See the True Nature". What is “the True Nature”?

 

世界上萬事萬物都是由“現象”和“本質”構成的,

Everything in the world is composed of "phenomena" and "essence."

 

中國傳統文化把“現象”稱作“相”,把“本質”稱作“性”,

Traditional Chinese culture refers to "phenomena" as "appearances or forms” and "essence" as the True Nature.

 

很顯然,“見性”就是透過現象看本質,通過事物的現象(比如:樹葉)尋找世界的本質。Clearly, "Seeing the True Nature" is to see the essence through phenomena, to seek the essence of the world through the appearance or forms of things (such as leaves on a tree).

 

在對這個世界本質的研究中,中國傳統文化與西方文化不同的是,中國傳統文化是從思維(心)這個角度研究和尋找這個世界本質的。

In the study of the essence of the world, traditional Chinese culture differs from Western culture in that it explores and seeks the essence from the perspective of thinking (mind).

 

量子力學告訴我們:物質是觀察與被觀察關係的描述,並沒有完全獨立和對立於思維(觀察者)的所謂的客觀物質.

Quantum mechanics tells us that matter is a description of the relationship between observation and the observed, and it is not completely independent or opposed to the so-called objective matter of the thinker (observer).

 

量子力學的這個認識和中國傳統文化“心物一體”的論點是不謀而合的,正因為“心和物”無法分開,它們是同一事物的兩個側面,是一體兩面的,因此從思維(心)這個角度是完全可以找到這個世界本質的。

This understanding of quantum mechanics aligns with the concept of "integration of mind and matter" in traditional Chinese culture, as the "mind and matter" cannot be separated, they are two sides of the same thing, and therefore, from the perspective of thinking (mind), it is entirely possible to find the essence of this world.

 

從思維(心)這個角度尋找世界本質,就必須證入“思維根本狀態”。

To seek the essence of the world from the perspective of mind, one must attain the "fundamental state of mind".

 

“思維根本狀態”是一切思維狀態的源頭、根本,由於心物是一體的,因此“思維根本狀態”也是這個世界的源頭,是這個世界的本質,是“性”。

"The fundamental state of mind" is the source and essence of all mental states, and as mind and matter are integrated, "the fundamental state of mind" is also the source and essence of the world, the True Nature" or essence of the world.

 

證入“思維根本狀態”就能發現這個世界的本質,這就是“見性”。

By attaining the "fundamental state of mind," one can discover the essence of the world, which is known as "seeing the True Nature."

 

要想證入“思維根本狀態”,就必須首先住於“思維本體”,因此必須首先“明心”。

To attain the "fundamental state of mind," one must first dwell in” the primordial consciousness," and therefore must first achieve " knowing the Mind."

 

“明心”是“見性”的前提,因為它決定了我們的研究方向從對“客體(思維內容)”的研究轉向了對“主體(思維本體)”的研究。

"Knowing the Mind" is a prerequisite for "seeing the True Nature" because it determines our research direction to shift from studying the "object (the content of thinking)" to studying the "subject (the primordial consciousness)."

 

只有研究“主體”,我們才能發現“主體”的各種思維狀態及其之間的關聯性,才能進一步發現“思維根本狀態”,找到世界本質。

Only by studying the "subject," can we discover various states of thinking and their interrelationships, and further uncover the "fundamental state of mind" to find the essence of the world.

 

反過來,如果我們沒有“明心”,如果我們沒有把研究方向轉為研究“思維本體(主體)”,那麼我們將仍然局限於研究“思維內容(客體)”,這樣我們是無法發現這個世界本質的,西方文化正是如此。

On the contrary, if we do not "know the Mind" and do not shift our research direction towards studying” the primordial consciousness (subject)," we will remain limited to studying the "content of thinking (object)." In this way, we will not be able to discover the essence of the world, which is exactly the case with Western culture.

 

雖然量子力學已經發現並沒有獨立和對立於觀察者的所謂的客觀物質,但由於受研究方法的局限,他們並沒有把研究方向轉為研究思維,這樣他們就不可能進一步認識這個世界的本質,這一點正是導致量子力學止步不前的根本原因。

Although quantum mechanics has revealed that there is no independent and opposing "objective matter" separate from the observer, due to limitations in research methods, researchers have not shifted their focus to studying thinking. As a result, they cannot further comprehend the essence of the world. This fundamental reason is what has caused quantum mechanics to reach an impasse.

“思維根本狀態”是這個世界的本質,不要誤以為這是“唯心”,

Note:

"The fundamental state of mind" represents the essence of the world, and it should not be misunderstood as "idealism".

 

因為這裏的思維和物質是不可分離的,既沒有獨立和對立於思維(心、觀察者)的所謂的客觀物質,也沒有獨立和對立於物質的思維,二者是一體兩面的,是不可分割的,

Because in this context, thinking (mind, observer) and matter are inseparable. There is no so-called independent and opposing "objective matter" separate from thinking, nor is there independent and opposing thinking separate from matter. They are two aspects of one entity and cannot be separated.

 

思維具有物質屬性,物質具有思維屬性。

Thinking has material attributes, and matter has thinking attributes.

 

“思維根本狀態”是同時具有物質屬性的,當我們用“思維根本狀態”描述這個世界本質的時候,是從某一角度和某一特點描述這個世界的本質。

"The fundamental state of mind" simultaneously possesses material attributes. When we describe the essence of the world using "the fundamental state of mind," we are describing the essence of the world from a particular perspective and characteristic.

 

從思維(心、觀察者)角度描述這個世界的本質,是由我們在研究這個世界本質時所採用的方法決定的,

Describing the essence of the world from the perspective of thinking (mind, observer) is determined by the methods we adopt in studying the essence of the world.

 

我們是從思維(心、觀察者)這個角度研究這個世界本質的,這就決定了我們必須用思維(心)方面的名詞術語描述與之關聯的物質方面的基本表現。

We study the essence of the world from the perspective of thinking (mind, observer), which determines that we must use the terminologies related to thinking (mind) to describe the fundamental manifestations of the material aspect associated with it.
